Construction crews are repairing bridges and ramps along I-394 and
1-94 between downtown Minneapolis and Hwy 100 over the next two
construction seasons. The work will also include realigning the I-394 to
Dunwoody Blvd. ramp, replacing the deck for the Penn Ave. bridge that
crosses over I-394, and other improvements along the two interstates.
This summer, crews will start their work by closing the E-ZPass lanes
to repair bridges on this section of I-394. In spring 2026, crews will
begin major construction on I-394 and I-94 with crews shifting traffic
and reducing travel lanes for motorists. Motorists should expect delays
during construction. This much needed construction will extend the
longevity of the bridges, upgrade safety and accessibility features and
provide a smoother road surface.
