Ice Cream Social
Each year local ice cream shops donate ice cream, custards, and sorbet for our annual scoop off, attracting over 500 neighbors to taste and vote for their favorite flavors. It’s a chance to dance to a local band and socialize. We thank our longtime contributors – Adele’s Sabastian Joes, Ben and Jerry’s – among others for supporting this event.
Sip & Stroll
Sponsored by over 15 Bryn Mawr businesses, neighbors visit local stores and restaurants, with a final drawing for prizes and music at our neighborhood coffee shop, Cuppa Java.
Harvest Dinner
This fall gathering at Bryn Mawr Community School brings neighbors together for a potluck dinner and chance to compete with others for the best “dish”. The BMNA provides the main meal, with salads, chili, squash and other sides, and dessert brought by those who attend.
Saturnalia
An afternoon celebration of winter, this downtown Bryn Mawr street festival features horse-drawn hay wagon rides, drum corps dancing, and roasting marshmallows over open fire pits. After all the outdoor festivities, enjoy an evening dance at the local coffee shop

ATC Playground Crawl
Come join us for a tour of some of the great parks accessible by bike via the North Cedar Lake Trail. We will meet at the Bryn Mawr Meadows Playground at 10am May 24th. From there, we will head west on the N. Cedar Lake Trail stopping at every 2 miles or so at a playground for a small shared snack and some playtime. We plan on 2-3 parks and 12-15 miles on the bike. That might seem like a lot to you, but with snacks and play breaks, you'd be amazed at what kids can do on their bikes. The ride leader will have a cargo bike to transport snacks and maybe even a kid or two. If you have questions, or would like to plan a snack to bring, please email Joshua at josh.nichols@bmna.org.

Mulch/Garden Day
It's hard to believe it has been two years since we last visited the hedge hillside to distribute a fresh layer of mulch! Yep, the task is here again and the BMNA is asking for volunteers to help spread 15 cubic yards of mulch around the topiary hedge shrubs. The neighborhood enthusiasm and appreciation for the hedge has helped greatly in the past with many dedicated volunteers stepping up to help! The more the merrier for this event!
We will also be planting the downtown annual planters on Saturday. We were able to pick up several flats from the overflow of the Bryn Mawr School plant sale, and will be picking up more varieties. For those with a flair and interest for arranging and planting, this one is for you!
Here are the details:
When: Saturday May 17th, meet at the hill side
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Bring what you have available such as:
Tools: large tarps work well to pull mulch up the hill, pitch forks, wheelbarrow, scoop shovels, garden rakes
Shoes: wear tight fitting shoes so your foot doesn't roll in your shoe
Clothing: the weather forecast looks favorable for a cool morning, advise wearing loose clothing and gloves
Water is advised as well.
Thank you in advance and we hope to see you Saturday morning May 17th!

Bridge Opening Celebration
This Friday, 5/16, at 5:30pm, join the Active Transportation Committee in celebrating the opening of the Luce Line bridge! The bridge connects Bryn Mawr Meadows Park to downtown Minneapolis, and was recently reconstructed as part of the SWLRT/Green Line Extension. Whether you are bike commuting or simply out for a walk, come hang out and enjoy the views from the bridge! See you there! Questions? Contact activetransit@bmna.org

Annual Meeting & Potluck Dinner
The annual meeting and potluck dinner takes place each year, as articulated in our by-laws. This is a membership business meeting where neighbors can vote for association representatives and officers, discuss neighborhood issues, hear from elected officials, and greet new and longtime neighbors.

Festival of Garage Sales
This iconic neighborhood-wide garage sale has a long history. Started in the 1970s, the festival draws people from all over the city and beyond to Bryn Mawr for over 100 garage sales, along with eating and shopping at our local stores.

April Piecycle Ride
Join the Bryn Mawr Active Transportation Committee for our first bike ride of the season, in collaboration with MPLS Piecycle Club (www.pie.bike),
to Rustica in Uptown. We'll meet at the Bassett Creek Playground (on Chestnut and Thomas) at 2 and roll out at 2:15 on Saturday, April 26th (rain date Sunday, April 27th). We plan to ride around Bryn Mawr and its neighboring lakes and then enjoy pastries and drinks at Rustica in Uptown (W. Lake Street). The ride is family friendly, and riders of all skills and paces are welcome.
