LWV Civic Buzz – Vulnerable Elders Face Scare Not Care

Vulnerable Elders Face Scare Not Care

What can we do to educate ourselves and others in order to support meaningful support in senior care?

Tuesday, Dec. 4th 2018
Black Forest Inn, 26th and Nicollet Ave. S.
5:30 Networking
6:15 – 7:30 Speaker and Discussion

In November of 2017, the Star Tribune began a five-part series called “Left To Suffer”. Their report stated that each year hundreds of Minnesotans are beaten, sexually assaulted or robbed in senior care facilities.

There are some strong and devoted advocates working on this issue and we will be hearing from two of those advovates. Our speakers will be Kris Sandberg, President of the Elder Voice Family Advocates and Sean Burke, Public Policy Director of the Minnesota Elder Justice Center.

League of Women Voters Minneapolis’ Civic Buzz is presented on the first Tuesday of the month at the Black Forest Inn. Thank you to our neighborhood sponsor, the Whittier Alliance. These meetings are free and open to the public.
